Flowers
Haschel: "It makes me relieved. I didn’t know you liked flowers, Miranda. I guess there is some woman in you." More about Miranda's character and past is revealed when the group arrives at Ulara. The group came across a bed of roses at which they paused to indulge them. All except for Miranda who explained her hatred of the plant. She explains that to her, roses are a flashy plant that hurts others to make themselves happy. She then leaves the area, apparently disgusted with them. Both Haschel and Dart had figured Miranda would like roses and Haschel is quick to note there might be more to her tirade than just dislike of the plant.
Truth over Drinks
Haschel: "Why did your mother leave you?" Sure enough, when Haschel and Miranda settle down at the bar and have a few drinks, Miranda explained she was lying about the reason she hated roses. It turned out that her mother had beaten Miranda as a child and that there were always roses around when this happened. Because of this, Miranda associated roses with her mother and her hatred associated itself with the roses. Haschel was also already aware that Miranda was adopted and hoped to help Miranda talk about it. However Miranda wasn't really in the mood to discuss it and quickly tried to change the conversation. We see more of her frank personality which parallels Rose's at times. Haschel had called them both on their sharpness on more than one occasion.
Coming to Terms
Rose: "May I join? I wanted to talk to you, Miranda." When Dart arrived, Miranda turned the conversation to him and both Haschel and Dart quickly took up some more drinks before deciding to leave for Rouge. While the men enjoyed their alcohol, Rose asked Miranda if she could talk with her as they had misunderstandings that should be resolved. It seems from the discussion with Haschel, Miranda is more willing to communicate with Rose and mentioned her own desire to talk about their conflict. At this point Miranda and Rose gain a better understanding of one another and the tension between the two grows less severe. It is likely Miranda was able to stop hating Rose just because her name was the same as the flower she loathed and Rose was also able to accept Miranda's replacement of Shana and her abilities as a Dragoon.
